Christmas Party! Millitimed Vaguely to "Sometime Around Christmas"

Anne and Amy have been very very busy over the last week or so, transforming their usually simple white room into the perfect place for a Christmas party.

There are garlands of holly and balsam strung around the room, leading away from the wreath between the windows (and there's a grumpy looking crow, perched in the middle of the wreath, trying to figure out how to get the red ribbon from around his neck). A Christmas tree, candles ablaze, stands in one corner, with presents tucked under its branches.

Welcome, dear friend, to Anne and Amy's Christmas party.

She raises her punch glass in greeting. "And a merry Christmas to you too! I'm pleasantly surprised to see you here. I didn't know you were friends with Anne and Amy."

"With Amy," he corrects. "I've never met Anne, I'm afraid, though she sounds charming, and Amy is certainly fond of her."

"Oh, Amy's a dear, sweet, and lovable girl. I simply adore her. You know, she was the very first person I met here when I first arrived."

She smiles at the memory.

"And Anne is charming. That's her right over there," she says pointing, "She's become one of my dearest friends."

"Ah," he says, brightening. "The redhead. Yes, she seems very nice indeed. And Amy said she'd appreciate my bringing the mistletoe, for some reason."

Phil laughs aloud at this.

"Oh, I'm sure she does, although she'd blush furiously if you said that to her face. You see," she says conspiratorially, "that is Anne, and that is Gilbert," she says, pointing, "and he is why she will appreciate your gift. And vice versa I'm quite certain."
