Christmas Party! Millitimed Vaguely to "Sometime Around Christmas"

Anne and Amy have been very very busy over the last week or so, transforming their usually simple white room into the perfect place for a Christmas party.

There are garlands of holly and balsam strung around the room, leading away from the wreath between the windows (and there's a grumpy looking crow, perched in the middle of the wreath, trying to figure out how to get the red ribbon from around his neck). A Christmas tree, candles ablaze, stands in one corner, with presents tucked under its branches.

Welcome, dear friend, to Anne and Amy's Christmas party.

They hop closer, and will, given the slightest bit of encouragement, hop right onto Helen.

"The grey one is Simon Perryvall, and the red is Mr. Pemberthy. Pet them or feed them and they're your friends for life, I'm afraid."

Amy's tone is very fond. She's rather proud of the squirrels. Most of the time.

Helen gently pets both squirrels, one with each hand.

"They're adorable, Amy!" she says, warmly, as she grins brightly.

"And they know it. Spoiled rotten, the both of them. But adorable. The crow, over in the wreath, is Peter Aurelious. He's not quite as friendly, I'm afraid."

Helen laughs. "Like my girls. Nala and Elena. They're so spoiled, but so sweet." She eyes the crow. "So I can tell." She grins.

"Once you get to know him, he's charming," says Amy, loyally. "He tries to look after me, you know."

Helen grins a bit more. "I'm sure he is," she says, sincerely. "I guess pets tend to be much like people in that way, yes?"

"I think they do. Although the squirrels are pretty good at charming complete strangers."

Helen laughs again. "As do Nala and Elena, though Nala is far more friendly." She giggles.

"It's a useful talent, for cute little critters," says Amy, laughing.

"I should let you go mingle and have cookies and hang things on the tree," says Amy.

Helen grins. "Yes, it is." Giving the squirrels one final pet each, Helen stands and beams at Amy. "I think I shall. Thank you so much for throwing this party!"

"I can almost guarantee you will!" Helen grins brightly. And with that, she's off to get some cookies.
