Christmas Party! Millitimed Vaguely to "Sometime Around Christmas"

Anne and Amy have been very very busy over the last week or so, transforming their usually simple white room into the perfect place for a Christmas party.

There are garlands of holly and balsam strung around the room, leading away from the wreath between the windows (and there's a grumpy looking crow, perched in the middle of the wreath, trying to figure out how to get the red ribbon from around his neck). A Christmas tree, candles ablaze, stands in one corner, with presents tucked under its branches.

Welcome, dear friend, to Anne and Amy's Christmas party.

Helen laughs. "No problem, Anne. Really."

She beams again, taking in her surroundings. "Your place is simply gorgeous."

Anne laugh with her, girlishly, her eyes starry and bright.

"We wanted to make it as pretty as possible," she admits. "And I just love the smell of balsam and pine so--don't you?"

Helen grins. "That's what that smell is then? I do rather like it, yes."

She laughs again. "I really need to decorate my place. I moved into the staff quarters!"

"Did you? Oh, that's wonderful news," Anne says, her eyes shining.

"I'm terribly glad for you, Helen. And how are Neil and Todd?"

Helen smiles bright. "Honestly, I have not seen them much lately, so I would hope that they are well! And thank you. You'll have to come visit me sometime!"

"I certainly will," Anne promises.

"We'll have a tea one day, and tell each other all of our news."

"Yes, yes we must." Helen grins. "Maybe I will even invite you to my place for tea!"

"That would be lovely," beams Anne, and waves towards the refreshment table.

"I'll just get this bow straightened, and I'll join you in a moment. Go on and meet the other guests, have some tea or punch and cookies!"
