Keep Meg & Amy From Cooking Party

There are streamers over the door and glitter is flung generously (if randomly) about over countertops. (To be on the safe side, the girls have used edible glitter, like that on the cookies they handed out as invitations.)

There are large signs posted above the stoves and ovens with picture of Meg and Amy and the words "NOT ALLOWED" in large and bright red letters below them.

It can only mean one thing.

There's a party in the kitchen, and someone has got to keep these girls from cooking.

- yeah, I'd go insane if I had to eat 'Spotted Dick' all the time, too, *she agrees.*

Literally, even, *she adds, brightly.* 'cause, you know, syphilis -

*Meg thinks she is terribly clever. It is tragic, really.*

Trina likes Meg. Trina remembers Meg's name, so we can accept this as fact.

Which is why she doesn't say any of the things she'd have said to almost anyone else making that pun.

"Well, I think I suddenly see why you get along with Logan."

English isn't my first language, *Meg says, cheerfully unmoved by this condemnation.* I'm just proud of myself for being able to pun at all.

"Oh, absolutement," says Trina. "More than I could do in French."

Hardly anyone around here speaks French, really, *Meg admits.* It's sort of English-by-necessity.
