Keep Meg & Amy From Cooking Party

There are streamers over the door and glitter is flung generously (if randomly) about over countertops. (To be on the safe side, the girls have used edible glitter, like that on the cookies they handed out as invitations.)

There are large signs posted above the stoves and ovens with picture of Meg and Amy and the words "NOT ALLOWED" in large and bright red letters below them.

It can only mean one thing.

There's a party in the kitchen, and someone has got to keep these girls from cooking.

He already came and complained to us about it, *Meg says, a little dryly.*

Er - let's just say he and Amy didn't hit it off. Threatening to eat babies tends to do that. I think we'll all know to stay out of his way.

"Did he - ah well," Gil says. He's not scared of Dr Lecter. Not at all. Just wary with the kind of cautious wariness of an antelope tiptoeing past a sleeping leopard.

"Then everything will be fine," he says encouragingly, "and I'll leave you and Amy to supervise. I'll be having tea with Sooty and will drop back later to see how you're getting on."

You'll be proud of us, *Meg says brightly, with perhaps unwarranted optimism.

. . . also perhaps unwarranted use of the word 'us', considering how little cooking she'll actually be doing.*

"I'm sure I will," Gil says, patting her lightly on the shoulder. "See you later, lovely."

And he turns and leaves the kitchen to it's fate.
