Continental Breakfast Included
The King and Queen have a great many parlors at their disposal, ranging from the very grand to somewhat very grand.
And then there is this one, which is generally reserved for the use of the family and their closest personal friends. It is a comfortable, sunlit sort of room, where one may find the children's toys and the Amy's embroidery and Perry's carving projects.
It is also where Amy has instructed her staff to lay out a breakfast for her friends this morning. They were all shown back to their rooms for what was left of the night before after their adventures, to at least attempt to get some rest.
Amy herself is a bit busy at the moment catching up on Official Matters: giving reports to the Deputy Captain of the Palace Guard and the Court Historian, seeing to the palace's new ghost (she's settled him in the Northwest tower, which is, she assures him, a perfectly lovely place to haunt), and reassuring her husband that yes, darling, she really is perfectly all right. She'll be along when she can.
In the meantime, everyone is free to make their way into the parlor in their own time. When they arrive, they will likely find company, and definitely find a table laid with everything the kitchens could find to send up: bread and jam and marmalade, cakes and pastries, eggs and bacon and sausages, a giant bowl of fruit, tea and juice and milk.

He shoots her a (humourous) Look, and eats some fruit.
A moment later:
'Sorry about all the dancing.'

X is not quite frowning, but the set of her shoulders has tensed.
Fractionally.
"It -- "
Words are difficult.
"It is okay?"
no subject
He stops when he sees her tense.
'Are you OK? Amy explained it. It's fine, I promise.'
no subject
Feelings, it appears, are also difficult. (Feelings and words combined are the worst.)
"You have not done that. Before."
And at the time, as he was still able to keep himself safe, it was less relevant to ask.
But she was concerned, nonetheless. Magic is not something that makes sense to her. It is worrisome.

'No, and I won't again. Don't worry.'
He gestures in the vague direction of the queen.
'Amy said that due to my...well, with how things are with me in Gotham - you know, the position of my family name, and everything...'
Drawing attention to his money and status is always faintly embarrassing with X, to whom it means absolutely nothing. He always feels faintly like he's trying to brag, even though he really isn't. It doesn't mean that much to him either.
'-anyway, she said the spell probably thought I was...royalty, like her. That's why it happened.'
Won't ever happen again.

The building tension in her frame fades almost immediately. She follows that up by leaning sideways to bump her shoulder against Bruce's.
She may keep on leaning, just for a second or two.
"I am glad the spell is broken."
This may be an understatement.
Then she looks up, taking the opportunity to steal several grapes from Bruce's plate.
"Magic is very strange."
no subject
He can't remember her ever specifically saying so before.
no subject
She does not fidget, just takes another grape.
"I do not like when things do not make sense."
Because then it is a lot more difficult to do anything useful.
And X really likes being useful.
no subject
Except, obviously, the people who do it. He idly wonders if, in a multi-dimensional bar like Milliways, there would be more people from worlds with magic, than without. Or vice versa.
Then decides it's not really important.
'And things are generally weird enough without having that in the mix as well.'
no subject
"In Milliways, too."
Though considering Milliways might not be able to exist without magic --
X falls silent.
She also offers Bruce half of her remaining piece of toast.
no subject
Teamwork. Can't beat it.
no subject
Teamwork really can't be beat.
Neither can moments like this one.
