The Queen's Rooms in the palace in Amber are very grand, very golden, and very un-Amy. But they've only been hers for a month and a half, and she hasn't been here most of that time. She'll get around to getting them changed to suit her. What matters to her is that she's found the door to Milliways at the back of her wardrobe.

Which means she can have guests.

And who better to bring as a first guest in Ambergeldar than her princess protege?

"Everyone needs someone to kill scary bugs for them," says Amy. "Especially the ones with all the creepy crawly legs."

"Blech, I know. I don't like spiders either."

She shivers. She was kept in a dark place with spiders, but her fear of them is about all that lingers of those bad times. Especially when she's in such a happy place with such a good friend.

"It's something about they way they move," says Amy. "All . . . skittery."

Then a grin.

"Well, enough about creepy bugs. Would you like a proper tour of the gardens?"

"Okay! That sounds like fun. Do you grow pumpkins? The big orange kind?"

"Probably. Over in the kitchen garden. But it's early in the year for them to be big. But we can go look."

"I grew a bean plant once, and it made a bean. It was at school. You remember - I brought it to the courtyard and planted it. It only made the one bean, though."

"But it made a very good bean," says Amy.

She takes Ingress hand and they wander all over the royal gardens. They only get lost a couple of times.

"Here we are," she says, finally. "Pumpkins. And beans."

"Oh, they're cute!"

The pumpkins are barely pumpkins. Still green round buds, but they will be orange and full soon.

"Have you had pumpkin juice?"

"No, I don't think I have. Can you make juice from pumpkins?"

"Yes! That's all Tom drank at school. Do you want to try some? We could go back and get some!"

Then her face falls.

"But then that would mean I'd be home. And I've been gone from Megwyn a long time."

A beat. "You have stables, right?"

"Of course. Very nice stables."

Amy smiles, anticipating the question.

"I think you and Megwyn should come visit sometime when you can stay longer. We'll plan a party in your honor that evening."

"Yay!!!! Come on, then. Let's go back and get her. Tom and Door will say yes, I know they will."

She hugs Amy. "I get to spend the night in a castle! With you!"

Hand-in-hand, they head back to Amy's room and the wardrobe which will take them back to Milliways.
